Integrated Water Recovery and Automated
Control Systems Laboratory (IWRACS) is a subcomponent of the Center for Space
Sciences at Texas Tech University. The Center for Space Sciences
represents a TTU/NASA cooperative research and education program
investigating basic and applied strategies and technologies to support extended
human and robotic space flight missions.
For human and
robotic missions the center is addressing the need for a decreased reliance on
mission control due to the communication delays that occur in long distance
missions. For human missions the center is also addressing the need for greater
autonomy in dealing with the physical needs of the astronauts.
