Center for Space Sciences

IWRACS is a component of the Center for Space Sciences (CSS) at Texas Tech University.  The mission of CSS is to educate, conduct research and disseminate knowledge through innovative programs in space-related fields.  The vision of the center is to promote multi-disciplinary research in space-related areas.  The mission of CSS will be achieved by investigating basic and applied strategies and technologies to support extended human and robotic space flight missions.  The three focus areas of CSS  includes water reuse and recycling,  human centered computing, and human factors.  The interdisciplinary teams proposed for NASA research efforts draw upon the strengths of Texas Tech researchers in engineering and computer science, and allow the “teaming” of NASA and Tech researchers to address issues of mutual interest.   Student involvement in the research efforts will expose students to NASA and applications of space-related research efforts.
